Hi Annelie,

I have a tough question to ask you....here goes:

Most sources I have come across about relationships advice talk about how true, unconditional love in relationships is predicated upon no expectations being placed on one another - in other words, complete freedom and acceptance of the other person for who they are. Otherwise relationships becomes ones of conditional love, which inevitably leads to disappointment/anger/resentment/etc.

That being said, if someone treats you terribly, you always have a choice: to accept them and stay, or ending a relationship. But we can never change other people.

My question is: Do you agree with this?

And my follow up question is: how do you deal with these conditional expectations...how do you learn to let go?

Definitely not easy questions, but I figured I'd ask you for some inspiration and guidance.

Thanks!
